About the event
We’ve put this workshop together to help cat sitters feel more confident and prepared when caring for diabetic cats. The session is led by Dr Kelly Debaene from [Mokum Mobile Vet].
Kelly is a cat-focused veterinarian with over 10 years of experience in general practice and shelter medicine in the US and the Netherlands. Through Mokum Mobile Vet, she provides personalised, compassionate, low-stress care for cats in their own homes across Amsterdam—giving her a unique perspective that closely aligns with in-home cat-sitting.
We cover the essentials: what feline diabetes is, why it matters, and how to recognise symptoms. You’ll learn what your role is as a sitter caring for diabetic cats, how to prepare before a job, and how to safely handle feeding, medication, and monitoring routines. We also go through common situations, how to recognise and respond to emergencies.
The workshop includes practical tips, common mistakes to avoid, a short insulin demo, and time for questions.
The goal is simple: to help you feel calm, capable, and confident caring for diabetic cats, so that more sitters are available for cats with this condition.
Please note
We have a very limited number of seats for this event, and tickets are non-refundable. If you can’t attend, you’re welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else—just contact us in advance so we can update the guest details: [luciana@multicatsking.com]

About the event
The Cat Sitters' Café is a free, informal, quarterly gathering for anyone who professionally cares for cats in Amsterdam and beyond. The goal is simple: community and support. Cat-sitting is a solo profession, and it can get lonely. This is your chance to (finally!) meet fellow cat sitters, chat, share experiences and ideas, learn from one another, network, make friends, have a drink, a laugh — whatever you need, only everyone there will be just as passionate about caring for cats as you are.
Who is this event for? Professional, hobby or aspiring cat sitters — if you’re considering it, come along! We’re happy to help, support, and inspire each other. Not based in Amsterdam? You’re still very welcome! Our network reaches all corners of the Netherlands (and beyond).
What to bring (if you like)? Business cards, flyers, merch you’d like to sell, things to exchange, giveaways, best practices, ideas… We love supporting initiatives from everyone in our community, so feel free to bring anything you’d like to share or show us.
Is your English a bit rusty? All our communication is in English, yes, but at the Café, you choose the language you want... and don’t worry if you feel a bit awkward around new people — because we're awkward, we all work with cats!
